LOU CANELLIS JOINS JOBPLEX AS EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
CHICAGO, IL, April 2006 - JobPlex is pleased to announce Lou Canellis has joined the firm as Executive Vice President, based in Chicago, IL. JobPlex is an affiliate of DHR International, the fifth largest executive search firm in the United States.
Lou is a recognizable figure for his work on Television and Radio in the Chicagoland area, as well as nationally. He continues to work as a correspondent on WLS-TV's "190 North", Host of CLTV's "Sports Page", and as a contributor to WSCR and WLUP Radio. Nationally, since 1998, Lou has worked as a play-by-play announcer on ESPN's College Basketball coverage. He also anchored radio coverage from the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and the 2000 Olympics in Australia; and is well-known for his post-game chats with Michael Jordan.
His background in Public Relations and Production Management is diverse within the broadcast and sporting world. Lou managed PIA's (Public Interest Affiliates) Sports Radio Network. As Vice President, of Programming, Lou directed a staff of over 100 across the country, negotiating contracts with universities, the National Basketball Association, radio stations, broadcast talent and support staff. He dealt directly with the Vice President of Sales establishing relationships with sponsors.
He also was a part in launching the production arm of One on One sports and helped persuade the PGA, Senior PGA, LPGA tournaments to buy into new technology that enabled fans at events to listen to a live radio broadcast of the golf event.
Lou is a board member for NCSA (National Collegiate Scouting Association) and has also served as a corporate emcee for PUMA and NIKE athletic wear. He has a Bachelors of Arts degree from Loyola University and has won numerous Emmy's and other awards for his work on TV and Radio.
