PHILADELPHIA (December 18, 2014) – Jobplex is pleased to announce that Brian Schakel has joined the firm as executive vice president. He is based in Philadelphia and brings more than 15 years of human resources experience to the firm. Schakel focuses on diversified industrial manufacturing and consumer products companies.
His clients include public and private, multi-nationals, and private equity-backed portfolio companies. Schakel’s placements include professionals in functional leadership roles, R&D and general management positions the Specialty Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Agribusiness and Pharmaceutical sectors.
Prior to joining Jobplex, Schakel led the industrial practice at DES Recruitment, Inc. specializing in chemicals, oil & gas, bioscience and pharmaceuticals.
Prior to his career in executive search, Schakel was the director of human resources for Sunoco’s retail and trading businesses where he was responsible for all aspects of the HR function. Previously, Brian served as Global HR Leader for Momentive Performance Materials Quartz & Ceramics division after it was acquired from General Electric. Before Momentive, Brian worked for General Electric in several HR leadership roles within the corporate headquarters, plastics and silicones businesses.

Schakel is a Six Sigma Certified Black Belt and a graduate of Michigan State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Theory and Master’s degree in Human Resources Management and Labor Relations.
