Jobplex, a DHR Global company, has become aware of a growing number of scams in which individuals falsely claim to represent Jobplex or one of our consultants, targeting professionals with unsolicited, fraudulent employment offers. These schemes are becoming harder to recognize, and we urge candidates to treat unexpected recruitment outreach with caution. This page explains how these scams typically work, the warning signs to watch for, and how to verify that a message genuinely came from Jobplex.
How These Scams Work
Scammers often use Jobplex’s name, logo, or the names of real Jobplex employees to appear credible. Rather than through official Jobplex channels, they typically make first contact through messages on WhatsApp, LinkedIn, SMS text message, or from personal email accounts such as Gmail. These messages describe a job opportunity and, over time, ask the recipient for personal or financial information, or for payment of a fee.
Warning Signs of a Recruitment Scam
- The message comes from an email address that does not end in @jobplex.com.
- There is no verifiable connection to Jobplex or its clients.
- The opportunity involves unusually high compensation, an immediate job offer, or pressure to respond or decide quickly.
- You are asked to pay a fee, contact/hire a resume-writing or other service, or provide banking, identification, or other sensitive personal information.
Jobplex will never ask a candidate for money, payment, or reimbursement at any stage of a search process. Legitimate communication from Jobplex will always come from an email address ending in @jobplex.com. We do not conduct recruiting outreach through WhatsApp, Telegram, or similar messaging platforms.
What to Do if You Suspect a Fradulent Message
- Do not click any links or open any attachments included in the message.
- Do not share personal, financial, or identifying information.
- Verify the sender by checking employee information on our website or LinkedIn and contacting Jobplex directly through official channels.
- Report the message to the platform where you received it and block the sender.
- Report the message to the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- Report gmail.com messages to https://support.google.com/mail/contact/abuse.
